How to Make Your House Smell Like a Spa
Who doesn’t love the smell of a spa?
It reminds me of everything relaxing and smells in a way that’s hard to put into words, but I know I NEED more of it.
Living in a house with three dudes (husband + two little boys) and two dogs means funky smells can happen anywhere and everywhere.
For years I’ve tried different scents, smells, candles… you name it… trying to achieve a spa like smell. Now, I’ve finally figured out how to make my house smell like a spa!
I use four products, and I’m saving my fave for last!

I use a few different products to add a nice blend of fragrance, and that’s exactly what these scents do… they blend together to create an amazing spa smell.
First, I spray Abbey & Sullivan’s Luxury Room & Linen Spray in Cashmere all over my bed, pillows, and throw pillows as I’m making the bed in the morning. I do the same in the boy’s rooms most mornings.
I’ve also tried their Luxury Room & Linen Spray in Lavender Vanilla, and it is just as fab.
I also spray my Abbey & Sullivan’s spray on sofas, lightly on rugs, chairs… basically anything absorbent… throughout the house.
Once I’ve picked up bedrooms and living areas, I use my next product- Thymes Fragrance Mist in Lavender.
Since this is a room mist, and not a linen spray, you aren’t supposed to spray it on any type of cloth… BUT I do spray a little close to my curtains. I like to think the yumminess sets in for longer that way.
I literally walk around the house spraying at least three pumps in every room.
Just using these two sprays consistently for a few days, I started noticing a lingering of the delicious smell that was beginning to remind me of a spa.
That just isn’t enough for me though. I want to walk into my house and have the spa smell hit me in the face!
Spa Smell Pièce de Résistance
Okay, this particular product is a bit expensive. If you can splurge, I definitely recommend you give it a try. It’s a spa in a bottle.
The Archipelago Botanicals Reed Diffuser in LAV aNde lives up to the hype, and smells just like you stuck your nose into a spa.
I had a bottle of the Lav spill in my rope basket full of blankets. Those blankets still smell fabulous after many washes. I suppose that’s an up side to wasting an expensive bottle of treasure.
If you stand anywhere near this reed diffuser, you’re going to smell the fabulousness. It doesn’t emanate throughout the house, so I recommend one for each end of the house. Or, you could put it in the room you use the most!

Finally… my favorite product.
My Inis the Energy of the Sea Scented Candle is my favorite product listed. This candle is small, but mighty (and it lasts!).
It’s beachy and fresh, all with the sophistication and elevation of a spa smell.
These candles, and Inis products in general, go out of stock often. I have been on the waiting list before! This is a product I refuse to be without.
Make Your House Smell Like A Spa
I’m finally happy with the way my house smells! When I walk through my door, I smell the fabulousness, and I can’t wait to light my Inis Scented Candle to add to it.
BONUS TIP:
I’m going to leave you with one more tip for a great smelling house, if you promise not to laugh. Okay, I kind of expect you to laugh, but it works!
I’ve been MariKondo-ing my house and found a pile of scented car trees I hated to just throw away. (But, do they really bring me joy??) They do now!
I stuck a Little Trees Car Air Freshener in Vanillaroma behind the toilet in my kid’s bathroom.
I’m a genius. Mind blown. It’s seriously, awesome. Guess I’ll give Bourbon or Pine a try next.
